On 30 September 2013, London & Continental Railways (LCR) took over certain properties and staff of BRB (Residuary) Ltd (BRBR).
BRBR was wound up under the Public Bodies Act 2011 and was created in 2001 to manage the majority of the remaining properties, rights and liabilities of the British Railways Board.
LCR will take on responsibility for a number of additional properties including:
A total of 15 former BRBR staff will transfer to work for LCR. Other elements of BRBR have been transferred to the Highway Agency, Network Rail and the Department for Transport.
David Joy, chief executive of LCR, said:

“We want to build on our existing experience at King’s Cross and in Stratford and use our now combined expertise to identify new opportunities, especially when it comes to promoting development and regeneration around railway lands and stations.”
